Pray About It

Pray About It

by Missionary Diana Washington

When faced with difficult decisions the natural response is to consult the internet for answers. Whether it’s medical concerns, financial questions, marital problems, children issues, job dilemmas, one of the first things we tend to do is check out the internet. The internet is a good resource of information. But let us not forget that God’s Word is our final authority. God’s Word-the Bible- is not based on opinions, influences, peer pressure, or human thinking. Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.. When we apply God’s Word to any situation we can be assured that it will never fail, there is no error. So, instead of trusting our friends’ opinions about managing our homes, family, jobs-let’s pray about it.

To pray is simply to talk with God and to listen to His Words. As we talk with God we remember His Word. We consider what the scriptures says.   Proverbs 3:6 says, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” God wants us to talk with Him and seek His plan for our lives.. He promises to guide our decisions if we would allow Him.

God is Able to Heal Our Bodies

Exodus 15:26
“If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians.  For I am the LORD who heals you.”

Exodus 23:25
“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”

God is Able to Heal Relationships

I Corinthians 13:13 NIV

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

God is Able to Heal the Broken Heart

Psalm 147:3

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Whenever you are experiencing hardships, loneliness, failure, emptiness, or defeat-Pray about it. On the other hand, when you experience good times, success, joy-Pray about it. I Thess. 5:16-17 says to pray without ceasing. Let’s talk with God in our good times and when life is not so good. He really wants to speak to us and heal our wounds and relationships.

Prayer: Father, today I thank you for caring about me. Help me to spend more time with you in reading your word-the Bible. Also, help me to cast my cares upon you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
