Get to know about St. Luke Church

Thank you for interest in getting to know us better!

St. Luke is all about providing life-changing ministries to help cultivate soul-winning disciples for Christ. We’re an inclusive, Christ-centered, people-friendly church that welcomes individuals from all walks of life.

Here at St. Luke, we don’t emphasize “just coming to church”, but rather building a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ . Through our various ministries, we strive to train equipped members who are devoted to expanding the kingdom of God through ministering to all without respect of person.

The doors to our church are open, and we invite you to come in and worship with us.

We hope to see you soon!

Sunday Gatherings

The Word is powerful, the Music Ministry is second to none, and you are welcomed with open arms EVERY Sunday at St. Luke!

Each Sunday, over 100 faithful members gather for worship, scripture, and to hear a life-changing word from the Lord.

We are committed to being “people-friendly people” and each visitor is greeted at the door and recognized at a designated time during the service. Feel free to say hello at that time, if you wish.

Our physical address is 307 Sunflower Street, Moorhead, MS.

If you’re entering Moorhead from U.S. 82, Sunflower Street will be the first street to your left. Our church is situated midway, on the left-hand side of the street.

Common Questions

Our physical address is 307 Sunflower Street, Moorhead, MS.

If you’re entering Moorhead from U.S. 82, Sunflower Street will be the first street to your left. Our church is situated midway, on the left-hand side of the street.

We provide ample, on-site parking in our fenced parking lot, located across the street from church (immediately west of our Pavilion area).

“…For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” I Samuel 16:7

Here at St. Luke, our goal is to see you as the Lord sees you.

While we encourage you to come as you are, please keep in mind that worshiping the Lord is our primary focus, therefore modest dress is appropriate.

Our Sunday Morning service begins at 11 a.m.

YPWW and Sunshine Band is held each Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m., followed by Evening service at 7 p.m.

Tuesday and Friday night services begin at 7:30 p.m.

While our offering is designed for regular members to give cheerfully as instructed, guests should not feel pressured, but are certainly welcomed, to contribute. During Sunday Services, we don’t follow a routine—simply come up to the altar freely and place your offering on the steps during the designated time.

We are delighted that you are interested in becoming an official member of our congregation! Please indicate to Pastor Howard your desire to join St. Luke, and he will gladly extend you the right hand of fellowship. Just as the angels rejoice in heaven each time a soul is saved, our members will rejoice and warmly welcome you in!

During every service, an altar call is performed for individuals who would like give their souls to Christ. During this time, feel free to indicate if you have a special prayer request as well.

What to expect

Sunday Morning Service

Come on in where the table is spread and the feast of the Lord is going on!

We invite you to join us as we feed on the word each Sunday at 11 a.m.

Our Sunday service program opens with a praise and worship jam session, and includes scripture readings as well as selections from our Sanctuary Choir as they prepare your heart to receive a Word from the Lord. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Bible or you don’t know the words to the songs; the lyrics and scriptures are conveniently projected inside of the Sanctuary.

You don’t have to leave here like you came.

Each service ends with an alter call where we invite you to let Jesus into your heart or make special prayer requests.

YPWW, Sunshine Band & Sunday Evening Service

Young People Willing Workers (YPWW) and the Sunshine Band are held each Sunday evening at 5:30 in our fully-equipped classrooms located in the east-wing, adjacent to the Sanctuary.

The Sunshine Band provides children up to age 12 with the opportunity to learn the bible, worship and participate in what has been dubbed “The Grandest Band in All the Land”.

YPWW consists of bible classes specifically designed for young men and women ages 13 and up.

Subsequently, Sunday evening service is offered at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Our evening service is more casual than our Sunday morning service and is filled with music and Bible teaching. The evening concludes with an alter call and prayer.

Tuesday Night Bible Study

Join us for Bible class each Tuesday night as we learn to employ biblical principles in our everyday lives, taught by our very own pastor, the Elder Ezra Howard.

The atmosphere of this service is relaxed as we come together to learn and train strong Christians in the Word of God.

Friday Nights

Come and share what the Lord has done for you!

Our Friday night service opens by offering individuals the opportunity to share their testimony or sing a song that has been placed on their heart during Testimony Service. Following the offering, a very capable member of our ministerial staff shares a mighty word from the Lord! Each service concludes with an alter call and prayer.
