In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.           Matthew 5:16

If you have ever driven in fog you really appreciate the car lights ahead of you. You may not see the lines and curves, but you are confident that you can make it a little further. Not only are you glad, but you may also experience peace and comfort. Knowing that someone else is leading the way takes away some of the fear. As believers we offer this same ray of hope to the world. As they travel through this life, we are their light. Our light provides confidence, peace, and even hope.

Our Heavenly Father, wants us to let our light shine before everyone. Our lives, daily walk, conversations, speech, decisions should reflect Jesus Christ. Our family, friends, children, community should see God’s love in our every act or deed. As we help others, impart our wisdom, parent our children, love our neighbors we should do it freely.

How to let your light shine:

  1. Live Holy I Peter 1:15-17
  2. Separate from evil I John 1:5
  3. Obey God’s Word John 17:17
  4. Give Yourself to God Romans 12:1-2
  5. Always Consider God’s Word Proverbs 3:6

Letting our light shine takes courage-standing up for what is right. Also, letting our light shine requires discipline-refusing to do evil. Nevertheless, God is with us He is able to help us resist evil and live holy. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (I Cor. 10:13 NIV). Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (Jude 1:24 KJV).

Prayer: Lord, help me to allow you to live in me. Also, help me to not be ashamed of you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
